My latest Diy...a lamp revamp!

Hey guys, I'm back...

All is well and it's great to be back!  So let's get to my latest project shall we?  I revamped a lamp over the week-end and am LOVING the results.  Here's the Before...

Now I actually love the color of this turquoise lamp!  However we've added a new rug to our family room in a soft blue/gray.  And this bright turquoise was not working.  So I lightened it up with Valspar's Color Radiance in the color Mellow Spring.

Before I started spray painting, I taped off the areas I didn't want painted such as the base, cord and lamp hardware.  Then I wiped the lamp clean with a soft, lint free cloth.

And here's the lamp After...

I love the new soft color and how the cool green/gray tone balances with our warm beige walls.  Incidentally this table holds the cable box to our flat screen TV, and those stacked magazines are hiding the cable cords.  So I don't want to draw a lot of attention to this area, but still want it to look nice.

One final tip when spray painting, I always buy spray paint that's both a paint and primer.  And using high gloss paint will add a little extra glam to any space.

  1. So pretty! I haven't tried that paint, but it looks beautiful, I love the nice high gloss. It looks great with your new rug, too! Thanks for sharing at Best of the Nest!
