2014 Design and Diy Projects - Recap...

Hey guys, happy 2015!   Are you excited about a fresh start to the New Year?  I sure am.  Today I thought I'd share a recap of a few decorating and Diy projects we tackled last year in 2014.

Exactly one year ago the hubby and I gave our family room a full on makeover.  We painted our family room and kitchen a light gray, Sherwin Williams - Useful Gray to be exact.  We also painted our red brick fireplace the same color as the walls for a clean and more modern look.  The house feels so much lighter and brighter now.  Go here for the scoop on this makeover if you missed it.

This collage below shows our home office (bottom right) as well as a few other spaces in our home.  As you can see, I love mixing pattern & styles for an overall layered and Eclectic look.

Finally this year was my first time participating in The One Room Challenge over at Calling It Home!  I seriously had so much fun giving our upstairs bonus room a full on refresh, as well as seeing all the other participants Awesome redesigned spaces.

Our whole family has been enjoying our new bonus/media room watching TV and movies together.  In fact, it amazed me seeing my kids reaction to this space week after week as it came together.  With each new design element, especially when they saw the finished painted armoire and this fun Diy Art, they just lit up!  That my friends is what I love about Interior Decorating & Design.  Simply put a nicely decorated space just makes you feel good.  And especially when you do it on a budget!

Okay these were just a few projects from 2014.  I'm looking forward to even more fun design projects and updates for our home in 2015!  Of course I'll keep you updated ;)  Happy New Year!
