June Design Collaboration

Hey guys, I'm hosting our June Design Collaboration this month, I'm so excited!

The inspiration photo I chose for June has warm colors that I love in teal, orange, brown and cream - and I immediately thought these colors would be fun on a hip outdoor patio or deck. The overall design makes me think of Summer (and even Fall) in Southern California! This outdoor design is modern, comfortable and just the perfect place to relax on cool and breezy Summer evenings with family and friends.

Okay check out a few other fabulous design boards...

Lizzy from Living Pretty created this cool sheltered urban patio.  She went for an urban patio, and mixed in a lot of indoor elements to create an outdoor sitting room.  Lizzy is also in LOVE with this Rattan hanging chair!  I couldn't agree more!

Carissa from the blog Carissa Miss created this eclectic bath refresh above for about $300 complete with plank wall & chunky shelves tutorial!  Ahhh, love those rustic chunky shelves!  Okay go here to find the complete source list.

Sarah from This Sarah Loves created a relaxing patio!  I love the play on patterns here.  And instead of teal and orange, she used turquoise and orange...perfect for Summer!  Stop by Sarah's blog for a complete list of sources.

Okay guys we do a Design Collaboration every month, so check back for more creative fun with Inspiration Photos!

Week-end Shopping - Patterned Curtain Panels

Well I did a little on-line shopping over the week-end and found several patterned curtain panels I've had my eye on for our home office.  I recently removed brown curtains in our dining room and replaced them with Pottery Barn silk cream panels.  it's a change I am loving!  So I've been craving a lighter look with added pattern and texture.

I just used these panels above for a client and they are fabulous!  If your room needs a light sheer panel with added texture, then this curtain is for you.

I love these Ikat patterned ones above from West Elm.

Ahhh, now here's a pretty pattern that I love and that isn't too modern for our traditional brick colonial!  The soft blue would work well against our warm SW Believable Buff walls.  Also the sheer fabric will keep things light and airy.

Alston Slate Curtain Panels - Crate & Barrel

I have to say that I am in LOVE with these striped panels!  Aren't they simply beautiful in this modern space?

Love Link Curtains - Neiman Markus

I really love the subtle pattern in these panels.  The pattern is there, but it doesn't jump out at you.  These would be my choice if they weren't $350 a panel, lol!!

Okay so that's my round up of patterned curtain panels.  There are so many choices available today in all price ranges.  And one more thing to think about is trend.  Do you think the trellis and quatrefoil patterned panels are a trend or here to stay?

Our Home's Paint Colors...

Happy Monday!

I am so excited today because I've been wanting to share the paint colors we've used in our home, and also to get a visual of how they look side by side.  For us, it's been a journey.  Painting our older 1980's colonial home, literally room by room.  Some rooms we've painted ourselves, and others we've hired painters.  The trim we do ourselves, I actually don't mind painting trim.

1.  Worldly Gray - SW 7043
  2.  Magnetic Gray - SW 7058
 3.  Natural Choice - SW7011
  4.  Believable Buff - SW 6120
5.  Useful Gray - SW 7050

We recently painted our bonus/media room in Worldly Gray - it's a a very warm, light gray.  Our once red dining room just got a few coats of Magnetic Gray - I'll have the reveal for that in a few days - I am totally in love with this soft gray/blue!  Our Master Bedroom is calm and serene with Natural Choice.  Our Home Office and Hallways are Believable Buff (very warm).  Finally our Family Room & kitchen are painted in Useful Gray - a fresh gray with a subtle green undertone.

So that's the scoop on the wall colors in our home.  So what paint colors are your tried and true favorites?  And have you made the switch to cooler grays/greens and blues.  Or are you still a fan of warm colors like beiges, yellows and reds?
