Okay the hand painted monogrammed pumpkin may be a little difficult if you don't have a steady hand. But I love the idea of filling a fireplace with painted pumpkins. And using a doily as a stencil...such a cute idea!
So how do you decorate your pumpkins every year...do you carve fun faces with the kids or get a little more creative with your design?
the doily stenciling would look great on a white pumpkin!! I think I'd use a brown color paint instead of black too!
ReplyDeleteI love that idea too, and totally plan to try it. Happy Fall Crafting!!

Just painted my tired old fake pumpkins white - what a difference! I'm going to pick up some black contac paper at the hardware this week so I can totally fake the hand-painted stencil. Just print out your letter on heavy paper or cardstock, cut it out and use as a template on the contac. You could even use a pretty patterned paper and use the grid back to line it all up nicely ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea Julie...thanks for sharing!
DeleteThese are darling! I like the pumpkin hearth! I want to carve out a pumpkin and fill it with mums. Wish me luck!

Love your blog! I'm your new follower, check out mine. :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the doily stencilled pumpkin! I never would have thought of that. Buuut... my little ones (well, teenagers) commandeer our pumpkins ever year, and carve all sorts of interesting faces and designs, so I'm pretty sure we'll do that again this year. Maybe I need to buy myself a pumpkin, and HIDE IT, so I can decorate one, too! ;P
