Trash to Treasure!

Does your home's decor need a little glamour & sophistication?  Then find a  quality piece of furniture from your attic or local thrift store and...paint it BLACK!

Check out this refinished dresser from This, That & Life!  Anneke scored this solid wood beauty on Craigslist for not a lot of money.  She used Annie Sloan paint, two coats of wax and added new hardware.  Now she's got a stylish, one of kind dresser that's both chic and totally updated!

  1. WOW. That doesn't even look like the same dresser! I'm in love with the re-do, and already have a couple of dressers I would love to transform like that. Fantastic job, Anneke!

  2. Thanks so much for featuring my makeover on this dresser! My furniture shopping rules are: don't compromise for poorly sliding drawers, go for solid wood if you can, and look for great lines. It's amazing what a little imagination can do! Thanks again! ~Anneke :-)

  8. I love it! Did you have to sand or remove the old stain first? Did you use clear or colored wax?
