Simple Bamboo Blinds!

Hey guys, I thought I'd share my latest affordable find...bamboo blinds!

One element I love incorporating into my home's design is texture.  And an easy way to do that is by using nature inspired accessories and home furnishings.  In our family room alone we've got leather club chairs, a faux fur pillow and throw, a hunk of white coral and dark wood flooring and tables.  And because we have a primarily monochromatic color scheme (with the exception of a few teal green accessories), texture is the key to adding visual interest to this otherwise neutral space.

Enter our latest nature inspired find...bamboo blinds from Lowe's!

Ahhh, I love how the dark areas in the bamboo tie in with our other dark wood furnishings...even our 75 year old antique blanket chest!

Lowe's carries bamboo blinds that they cut actually in the box and on site while you wait.  And each 31 inch blind came to just $35, that's a great value!  Okay so if you've been thinking about a new look for your windows...think bamboo blinds.  They're a lot more affordable that you might think, and the texture plus functionality they offer...fabulous ;)

  1. I love them! We have matchstick ones and while I think they look great, at night you can still see right into our house as if there is nothing there. I think yours must work better being the slats are a bit thicker. they look great in that room!

  2. Thank you Jenny!! And yes the bamboo ones are also lined with a white fabric as well, so there is more privacy.

  7. Oh how I love bamboo blinds - I actually found mine (in my former house) at Target! They add so much texture for so little money.

  8. A patio is meant to enjoy the outdoors, so why should we consider blinds to cover it up? Bamboo patio blinds have become very popular these days. Nice blog post! :)
