Antique Book Bundles!

Have you seen these book bundles from Restoration Hardware?  Ahhh, I have and {LOVE} how they look as accessories for the home.  Perfect for adding layers of vintage charm to any ole' bookcase.  But if I remember correctly they were priced at around $30 each...yikes!

Well you can knock em' off by hitting your local Thrift Store!  Buy some old books for around 25 cents each, rip off the covers and wrap em' up with twine.  Now you've got book bundles for a fraction of the cost.

Or you can buy them on Etsy from Cat on a Limb Accessoriz for just $15 each.

Accessorizing with book bundles...so Simple, Thrifty & Fun!

  1. I totally love these as well and made my own that same way. Thrift store books and twine! I also heated up a tea bag in water and rubbed it on the pages for a more antique look!

  3. I love them too, but would never pay that much for them. I picked up a few at Goodwill the other day.

  4. As a collector of antique books, it worries me that people are going to be running around tearing the covers off every old hardback they can find! it reminds me of when using sewing patterns to decoupage became popular. How many hundreds of rare pattens were destroyed to feed a fad?

  7. I was just at the Restoration Hardware Outlet and a decorator was buying up these bundles ... they were priced at just $9. For the life of me I could not figure out what the fascination was with these old tattered books until I saw the pic in your blog post. Guess I should have picked up one or two.
