Wine Crates....Beautiful & Functional!

One of my favorite home accessories are simple, inexpensive wine crates! I snagged these guys below from Total Wine for just $5 each...Ahhmazing!  Now I added a little stain to age mine up a bit.  But aren't these simple wooden crates fabulous accessories for above hutches and armoires?

Then I asked myself the question "but how can I use my wine crates more for storage and function?"  So I went on-line in search of some inspiration.  And look what I found...

These wooden crates would be perfect in the kitchen!

Wine crates in the bathroom?  Why not...I love this idea!

What a great way to add a pop of color to any room!

Another great storage idea...but I also see these painted with chalkboard paint and labeled Toys!

Awww....this is just too cute for words!

Wow...are you looking for affordable storage ideas for you home?  Go get you some wine crates for $5!  Yup, the possibilities are endless!

  10. I like yours, Jane, with the French writing. I can just go into a liquor store and ask about wood wine crates?

  11. I have wine crates all over the house, including in my kitchen storage. I love them! Our Crown Wine is kind enough to hand them over for free.

The pet bed is my favorite. I'd never thought of that!

  21. What a wonderful idea. I would never even bought them let alone think of this use for them. You did an excellent job with them.

  22. I use wine crates too for holding cloth napkins and linens in the kitchen. Or towels in the bathroom. Love the idea of putting wheels on them!

  23. Great price! Where did you luck out on them? I have a magazine page showing an entire wall of wine crate (turned both ways, random pattern) to use as bookshelves, etc. DD2 wanted to do it in her home, but we've yet to run across crates!

Followed your link over from Fab Friday. Drop by Atticmag and leave a comment for your chance to win Roxy bedding for Giveaway Friday.

  28. I had to resort to making my own crates - I think crates are marvelous. I cannot find any good deals...even though I live in wine country...they are charging too much! I was thinking of how cute they would be on casters and then you have that fab photo!

  29. Hi Jane!

I found your blog doing a search for wooden crates, and I'm so glad I did! Definitely will be following (especially for Fruglaicious Friday and Marketplace Monday! - Love the deals, and the handmade work.)

Just to let you know, I've used one of your crate ideas and linked to your blog in mine... I write professionally for Saffron Marigold - a fair trade maker of luxury Indian linens. I was putting together a post on "gifts for him", and thought the crates would be a great low cost Christmas present.

    Take care!
