First project 2014…our family room makeover with paint!



Happy New Year!

Hey guys are your ready for a fabulous 2014?  I sure am.  I'm also ready to tackle a few overdue Diy projects that NEED get done around here.  As you can see in this photo below the wall color in our Family Room is very warm with golden undertones.  Simply put…I'm over it.  Yup, ready for a cooler and more modern look!  And I think I've found the perfect warm Gray from Sherwin Williams…

In addition to painting these walls we're also ready to paint the red brick fireplace as well.  Here are a few Painted Fireplace Inspiration photos I found recently on Pinterest…




Ahhh, I think it's going to look great, but I need to find the perfect warm white for the brick.  First things first though…painting those walls.  Of course I'll keep you posted.

    Jane, we have a white painted brick fireplace. When we first moved here the brick was already painted peach (!). I used White Dove by Ben Moore and it's a great warm white that doesn't read too stark. Your family room is gorgeous already, can't wait to see your changes!!

      Lisa, I checked my color wheel and White Dove it is! That IS a great white..very warm! Thanks for the Inspiration ;)

    We painted our brick fireplace when we moved in a year ago....It was the best thing we did and I love it! We used SW Alabaster! Everyone that comes in loves the painted fireplace.

    The room is already beautiful so I think the new paint colors on the walls and brick will make it just gorgeous! Can't wait to see it done!

    I LOVE the change…what a difference…We have a 2 sided fireplace (kitchen/ living room) and the living room side has the painted brick…Happy New Year and enjoy your new space!!

    Perfect! My walls are painted SW Accessible Beige at 150% & we painted our red brick fireplace BM White Dove & it looks so warm, cozy & sophisticated. I know you will love it. Happy New Year.
