Happy Holidays!
Today I thought I'd share a bit of our Christmas & Holiday decor.
My goal this year is to really lighten things up! I noticed some of our older Christmas decor was starting to look dark and dated, and so I edited out the maroon and hunter green (aside from the greenery of course) - that alone made a huge difference. We also have a new gray/ light blue rug in the family room, so lighter and fresher holiday colors will coordinate better in this space. My Holiday colors this year are red, cream, tan, gold and chartreuse green and I am loving this fresh new look!
From last year here's the Before…
And here's the After…

Ahhh, that's much better, see the difference? I sure do, even the hubby loves it! And don't worry, the kiddos, well middle schoolers, get to put their colorful Christmas stockings in their rooms this year ;) Okay I'll have more to share in a few days where I'll be contributing over at Old Time Pottery's blog and will be lightening up our Christmas decor even more, so stay tuned!
So what changes have you made to your Holiday decor this season…anything new?

It does look fresher, Jane! This year I was wanting an old school Christmas full of red and green we usually do something super colorful.
ReplyDeleteWe do too. I feel like you have to when you have kids! The decor has to be fun for them too :)
ReplyDeleteI want to make burlap stockings - I have the old ones hanging on their doors with command hooks, anyway...I have the fireplace screen in your before photo!
ReplyDeleteWe got our new fireplace screen at World Market. Love the clean lines!
ReplyDeleteI love the changes, Jane! Every year I seem to do away with some things. I find myself decorating less and less and changing it up to simpler things. Thanks for sharing at Throwback Thursday.
